Birmingham Marathon and Half Marathon
Some fantastic runs by RSC athletes on the streets of Birmingham today. In the marathon Barry Lloyd had a superb race to finish 25th in 2.52. There were also great runs by Ashley Powell, Chris Taylor, Dean Lucas, Steve Pitt (guiding) and Mike Deasy.
In the Half Marathon Ollie Harradence finished 8th in 1.14. There were further strong performances by Matt Bennett (breaking 1.30), Lyn Hunter and Tamara Savage. Well done all!
West Midlands Young Athletes XC
A fantastic effort by all our Young Athletes who kicked off the XC season at Hatton Country World today. Conditions were very “un-cross country like” with a fast rock hard course and mild temperatures – I’m sure it won’t be like that in December and January!!! The club finished 4th overall with lots of great individual and team performances. Well done everyone!
Cardiff Cross Challenge
Great results for Shaun Evans and Katie Ingle who both finished 10th at the Cardiff Cross Challenge yesterday. The race features many of the country’s top distance runners. Well done both!!!

5-6pm session for 7-9 yr olds starts back on 21 September
The Thursday night 5-6pm session for 7-9 year olds starts back on 21 September. All children who attended last July are welcome to attend. To those children who are on our waiting list please await your invitation to join. You will be notified either by a text or email.
Please note we have a considerable waiting list – as such if children do not attend for 4 consecutive sessions without notifying us it will be assumed that they no longer require their place.
We are planning to make exciting changes to the sessions which will allow the children to attempt different athletic events and have their times/distances recorded with a Certificate being issued on the completion of all the events.
