27887547666_df00af58f7_oWe are a friendly and competitive athletics club who are always keen to welcome new members.

We offer sessions in all track and field events. Throughout the summer there is a comprehensive competition schedule.   During the winter we have an indoor Sportshall athletics league for athletes in Year 5 – Year 10.

We have an established distance running section, with groups catering for both competitive and social runners. Our competitive runners compete throughout the year in track, road and cross country events.

Children can start at age 7 (in our induction group from 5pm – 6pm on Thursdays in term time). It’s £2.50 a session which you pay in the clubhouse before the session starts. The group is very popular and there is a waiting list in place. Please email to be added to the waiting list: (

All other ages are catered for in club training sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm – 8pm.

We also have a few groups on Friday nights: jumps and hurdles 6.00pm – 7.30pm, sprints 5.30pm – 7pm and javelin 5.45pm to 7pm.

Various groups meet on Sunday mornings throughout the year.

With a variety of groups to choose from, if you or your child is interested in joining us, the best thing to do is to come to the club on a Tuesday or Thursday at 6pm and see our athletes in action.

Club teams compete throughout the year and athletes are expected to compete for the club if selected. Entry fees for all competitions entered by RSCAC are included in the membership fee.

Club policy for prospective members aged 17 and under is that they must be accompanied by a parent/guardian on their initial visit, to provide contact details and permission for membership. It also gives the parent/guardian a chance to see the club for themselves.

We are a competing club but unfortunately we do not have the resources to take complete beginners for middle and long distance training groups. For these disciplines we would expect prospective junior members to be able to run/jog 1 mile without stopping and seniors run 10km non stop.

Macy my 11year old daughter was interested in joining an athletic club. Would she be able to come along next Thursday to have a look and maybe try out in some of the events?
