YDL Upper Age Group at Stourport
Well done to all athletes who turned out to compete at Stourport today in the final YDL of the year. There were a number of PBs and good performances. Well done Team RSC.
Lower YDL Promotion
The results for the last lower YDL are still to be finalised, but with two events and the officials points to be accounted for the team were well ahead and it seems certain that they will be promoted, as they were in a strong position after the first three competitions.
Many congratulations to athletes who have trained hard all season, as this has certainly paid off with the vast majority gaining new PBs. Thanks to parents and to club volunteers for their continued support at competitions.
Promotion will bring with it new challenges as the clubs in the higher division tend to set higher standards; athletes will need to focus on their own performances rather than those of the athletes around them. For parents, it will mean giving up more time as the clubs are from a wider area – Telford, Stoke, Nottingham, Stafford and Coventry (based at Warwick University).

Online entries now open for the Little Aston 5
Online entries are now open for the Little Aston 5 mile road race. The race is organised by Royal Sutton and takes place this year on Sunday 4 September. The course is on undulating country lanes, starting and finishing at Little Aston Primary School. The race is registered with Run Britain and results will be eligible for Power of Ten rankings
Muninder is a triple European Champion!!!
Muninder Singh Hayer and his coach Graham Felton have just returned from Copenhagen where Muninder was competing for England in The CPISRA Racerunning Open European Championships. This was Muninder’s first overseas competition and he rose to the challenge magnificently. He won all his heats and made the finals in 5 events with the following results- 40 metres Gold Medal
- 60 metres Gold Medal
- 100 metres Gold Medal
- 200 metres Silver Medal
- 400 metres 4th
TThat meant 10 races for Muninder over 2 days of competition and all this achieved after only taking up the sport just over a month ago. He produced new personal bests in every event.
Now he is Triple European Champion and raring to go on to even greater heights.
The England team managed to win 8 Gold, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze medals in total and a wonderful time was had by all.

Record Breaker!
Many congratulations to Isabel Male, u 13 girl, who broke two sprint records at the Lower YDL competition on Saturday.
Isabel ran the 75 m in 10.5 seconds and the 150 m in 20.6 seconds. Isabel is unbeaten this season in the YDL competition, gaining first place in all her races. She is now ranked 3rd in the Midlands for the 75 m and 3rd for the 150 m.
Both of these records have stood since 1998, which is testament to how speedy Isabel is – and with another 12 months in the u 13 age group.

‘Star Track’ summer athletics scheme
Any child who wants to become the next Greg Rutherford or Jessica Ennis-Hill should ask to attend this year’s summer athletics scheme. Star Track is an excellent induction to athletics for 8 – 14 year olds. Over 3 days they will try every athletics event except pole vault.
RSCAC are running 2 Star Track weeks this year, at Wyndley:

15/16/17 August
All sessions are 10am – 3pm and the cost is £40 for the 3 days.

Success for U11s at Heart of England
Chrissie P reports on some great performances by our young stars:
The Under 11’s have been out competing at the Heart of England league all season and have all done exceptionally well going out pushing and supporting each other all season doing the club and all the young athletes proud. Every single one of them have broke at least one personal best whilst competing this season and we have even had some club records broken:
- Charlotte Prince in the 600m who broke the old record by 5 seconds running an exceptional 1.57.5 at the second meeting in Coventry
- Superstar Harrison North broke the 75m club record in a time of 11.1 and the howler club record by 6 meters with a throw of 25.15 all in his first ever competition for the club!
Well done Alfie, Joshua, Harrison, Jayden, Martha, Alice, Charlotte, Olivia and Evie and all other under 11’s who have competed this season – you’ve all done us all very proud.
