Brushing shoulders with the stars…

A few RSCAC members met Shara Proctor and Tiffany Porter earlier tonight as they prepare for tomorrow’s Grand Prix at the NIA. (Asha Philip was there too, but she escaped before we could pin her down for a photo.) Best of luck to all three athletes as well as 8 RSCAC athletes who will be running at 12:23 and 12:28 in a club connect relay.

Go RSCAC! All support welcomed so get there early if you can to support the athletes. It will also be televised, so set your TV to record.

5pm – 6pm induction group for 7 – 9 year olds moved from Tues to Thurs

In order to enable more coaches to help with this induction session, the 5 – 6 pm induction group has been moved from Tuesday to Thursday.

The first session is on Thursday 26th September, 5 pm – 6 pm.

Any keen athletes should turn up at the athletics club house (on Wyndley Lane) at 4.55 pm on Thursday 26th September.

The session costs £1.50.

Children must be aged 7 – 9 to take part.

Help needed for the YDL Upper Age Group meeting (Under 17 and Under 20) at Wyndley on Sunday

Calling all members…

If you can help at Wyndley on Sunday it would be very much appreciated.

The event starts at 11.15 am, so we are setting up at 9.00 am.  We need to get hurdles out, set up long jump/triple jump boards, get the pole vault and high jump out, check the bar height of these, find all the relay change over flags and batons, find the scales to weigh throwers’ implements, put up the club tent, set up the sound system….Clearly there is a lot to do, so the more help, the better.

At 5.00pm we’ll need to put everything away, so any help at 5.00pm would also be greatly appreciated.

And if you can stay to help in between we’ll be able to use you: in the coffee bar, raking pits/collecting shot putts, putting out hurdles, taking refreshments to officials, running results from timekeepers to the announcer, pinning results up.  If you can stay, we’ll happily find you a job.

Hopefully see lots of you on Sunday. GO TEAM RSC!
