Cardiff Met Grand Prix 2
Kane Howitt broke his own Senior Club Record with a time of 6.93 secs in taking 5th place in the Final. This breaks his own record of 6.99 set in 2018. He also recorded 6.94 in his heat.
He won the number one 200m race too in a time of 22.07, which was the fastest time recorded at the meet of 13 races. This is a new indoor PB for Kane beating his previous best of 22.35.
Midland XC Championships
Sutton’s U13 girls followed up their success in the Schools’ races by taking team medals in the Midland cross-country championships at Leamington last Saturday 26th. The team finished 3rd out of the 26 competing Midland clubs. The scorers and bronze medal winners were Martha Wood (10th), Mante Nausedaite (13th), Charlotte Prince (35th), and Emily Symes (42nd) in a field of 121 runners. Good back-up support came from Francesca Allen (59th) and Olivia Allen (61st). Good runs also from Sammie Wakefield, Eva Kelly, and Lucy Rigby.
In the U15 girl’s race, notable performances from Lucy Carey (16th) and Sian Duval (32nd) with excellent support runs from Elsa and Zara Buchanan, and Jess Hales in her first championship race.
The U20 race featured brave performances from WM Schools’ champion Ellen Humpherston (15th) and Georgia Delaney.
Kane breaks 60m indoor sprint record

Hi Everyone, Just seen the results of the Indoor Meeting in Cardiff yesterday ( Cardiff Met GP2) and pleased to report that Kane Howitt broke his own Senior Club Record with a time of 6.93 secs in taking 5th place in the Final. West Midlands Schools Championships
Seven Royal Sutton athletes qualified for the National English Schools’ Cross-Country Championships when they finished in the top 6 in their respective age groups at the West Midlands Schools’ Championships, held at Warley Woods Saturday 19th January. Royal Sutton won individual medals in all three of the girl’s races with Martha Wood winning the junior girls race, Lucy Carey coming second in the Inter girl’s race and Ellen Humpherston taking gold in the Seniors.

Plantsbrook Tonight
Plantsbrook sessions for Sprint Squad & those doing Sportshall comps start back tonight, 5.50pm – 7.50pm.
Warwickshire Cross Country Team Champions
Royal Sutton Coldfield u13 girls retained the Warwickshire cross-country team champions trophy for the third year in succession.

Team gold medals were awarded to the three scorers: Martha Wood (2nd), Bethan Homer (4th) and Charlotte Prince (6th).
Martha was awarded the individual silver medal for her second place and has been automatically selected to run for the County in the National Inter-Counties Championships in March.
Bethan and Charlotte also have a good chance of selection for this prestigious event.
There was good support from Emily Symes who finished 11th.
