Brushing shoulders with the stars…

A few RSCAC members met Shara Proctor and Tiffany Porter earlier tonight as they prepare for tomorrow’s Grand Prix at the NIA. (Asha Philip was there too, but she escaped before we could pin her down for a photo.) Best of luck to all three athletes as well as 8 RSCAC athletes who will be running at 12:23 and 12:28 in a club connect relay.
Go RSCAC! All support welcomed so get there early if you can to support the athletes. It will also be televised, so set your TV to record.
No sprints squad tomorrow.
Tony and Meg can’t make training tomorrow so there will be no training for Tony’s sprint group tomorrow. See you all Tuesday.
Good luck to all those who are competing.
No Sprints training tomorrow (Sunday) for Tony’s group
Tony and Meg are at the Regional Sportshall Finals with 4 of our Under 11s tomorrow, so there is no training for the sprints group.
Good luck to Freya, Lucy, Mia and Patience.
Thursday induction group 5 – 6pm
Sportshall success
Last Friday (18th Oct) was the 1st Sporthall event of the year. RSCAC did very well. After the 1st meeting, the Under 11 girls are in 1st place, the Under 11 boys in 3rd, the Under 13 boys in joint 2nd and the Under 13 girls in 5th. The Under 15s do not have team positions. It is all done on individual performance in 3 events. There were some good performances from all.

The next Sportshall is Friday Nov 15th, 7.15 pm at Stockland Green Leisure Centre.
WE ARE ESPECIALLY SHORT OF UNDER 15 BOYS (School Year 9 and 10). So if you are a boy in School Year 9 and 10, please email rscac@hotmail.co.uk if you can offer to compete for your club. It is a really fun competition where you do: a running event of about 150m or 300m; shot putt or speed bounce; and standing triple jump or long jump. There are also relays.
Induction group – Thursday 5 – 6 pm for 7 – 9 year olds.
Just to say that this group is now up and running. (It is only on in term time.) We had to change the induction group from Tuesday to Thursday to enable more helpers to attend.
It is £1.50 a session. Meet in the clubhouse on Wyndley Lane at 4.55 pm. No need to book a place – just turn up with your child. Bring a water bottle and wear appropriate clothing.
