Sportshall success

Sportshall girlsWell done to Freya, Lucy, Mia and Patience who were part of the Birmingham team at yesterday’s Regional Sportshall Final. The team finished second thanks to great performances by all. The Birmingham boys did one better, winning by a fair margin. Well done to all.

Sportshall success

Last Friday (18th Oct) was the 1st Sporthall event of the year.  RSCAC did very well.  After the 1st meeting, the Under 11 girls are in 1st place, the Under 11 boys in 3rd, the Under 13 boys in joint 2nd and the Under 13 girls in 5th.  The Under 15s do not have team positions. It is all done on individual performance in 3 events. There were some good performances from all.

The next Sportshall is Friday Nov 15th, 7.15 pm at Stockland Green Leisure Centre.

WE ARE ESPECIALLY SHORT OF UNDER 15 BOYS (School Year  9 and 10). So if you are a boy in School Year 9 and 10, please email rscac@hotmail.co.uk if you can offer to compete for your club.  It is a really fun competition where you do: a running event of about 150m or 300m; shot putt or speed bounce; and standing triple jump or long jump.  There are also relays.

Help needed for the YDL Upper Age Group meeting (Under 17 and Under 20) at Wyndley on Sunday

Calling all members…

If you can help at Wyndley on Sunday it would be very much appreciated.

The event starts at 11.15 am, so we are setting up at 9.00 am.  We need to get hurdles out, set up long jump/triple jump boards, get the pole vault and high jump out, check the bar height of these, find all the relay change over flags and batons, find the scales to weigh throwers’ implements, put up the club tent, set up the sound system….Clearly there is a lot to do, so the more help, the better.

At 5.00pm we’ll need to put everything away, so any help at 5.00pm would also be greatly appreciated.

And if you can stay to help in between we’ll be able to use you: in the coffee bar, raking pits/collecting shot putts, putting out hurdles, taking refreshments to officials, running results from timekeepers to the announcer, pinning results up.  If you can stay, we’ll happily find you a job.

Hopefully see lots of you on Sunday. GO TEAM RSC!
