Royal Sutton at the Inter Counties XC – 9 March
Some great results for Royal Sutton athletes competing for Warwickshire at the Inter Counties XC at Prestwold Hall.
- Senior Men – Shaun Evans (38th) overall position (1st for Warwickshire and 6th U23 runner).

U20 women – Ellen Humpherston 72nd
U17 women – Charlotte Hey 140th and 3rd scorer. Team 24th
U15 girls – Lucy Carey 142nd and 3rd scorer out of 309 runners (Team 33rd out of 45)

U13s – Martha Wood 86th and Warks 2nd scorer. Nante Nausedaite 108 and 3rd scorer Charlotte Prince 195th, Bethan Homer 210th. 307 finishers, Team 22nd out of 43

Plantsbrook
Sprints Squad and those doing Sportshall competitions are back at Plantsbrook tomorrow. We stay at Plantsbrook up to and including 19th March.
England Athletics U15 / U17 / U20 Championships – EIS Sheffield, 23rd & 24th March 2019
Last weekend, Isabel Male (u 15) and David Iliffe (u 17) ran in the England Athletics Indoor Championship in Sheffield.
On Saturday, David ran a PB in the 400m, 52.63 seconds, which saw him placed 13th overall.
On Sunday, Isabel achieved first place in her 200m heat, 25.90 seconds. The semi final saw Isabel up against the athlete who was to win the event overall. She achieved 2nd place, with a time of 26.06 seconds. Izzy took 4th place in the final, achieving an indoor PB of 25.73 seconds.
Congratulations to Isabel and David.
No Plantsbrook Tomorrow
There’s no Plantsbrook tomorrow as there are exams in the hall. All sessions are at the track, 6 – 8pm.
New Club Record and PB – Nicholas Pryce
Nic broke his own Senior indoor Club record in taking 3rd place in his semifinal of the British University Champs in Sheffield on Sunday in a time of 21.90. His old record was 21.91 set in 2012.
On Friday he set a new PB of 6.98 in his 60m semifinal. His old PB was 7.01 set in 2013. Well done Nic.
Results from the Birmingham Games
Some excellent results, with a gold medal for Isabel Male in the u 15 girls 200 metres (25.79 SB and indoor PB) and a silver for Joseph Martin in the 1500 metres (4:20:82 SB and indoor PB).
Bethany Connelly and Lola Woodward continue to impress, both setting new PBs in their events. Beth achieved 28.46 in the 200m and 8.71 in the 60m; Lola 8.81 in the 60m.
Plantsbrook tonight
Even though it’s half term, Sprints Squad and those doing sportshall competitions are at Plantsbrook tonight 5.50 – 7.50pm.
Sprint Stars

Four of our sprint athletes were in action last weekend; Kane Howitt (senior men) in the British Championships and Isabel Male, Bethany Connelly and Lola Woodward (u15 girls) in the Midlands Counties Championships.
Kane ran 7.01 in the 60m and an indoor PB of 21.96 in the 200m.
Izzy came first in both her 60 m races, achieving a seasons best in the final of 8.03 to take the gold medal and Midlands Championships title (photo above).
Bethany and Lola both impressed, running 60m PBs (8.83 and 8.91).
Well done Kane, Izzy, Bethany and Lola.
Regional Sportshall Success
Well done to the RSCAC athletes who were part of successful Birmingham Teams at the Sportshall Regional Finals on Sunday.
All Birmingham Teams were either 1st or 2nd – a fantastic team effort from everyone!
