Regional Sportshall Final

Well done to Chrissie, Hannah L, Kane H and Matthew P who all represented Birmingham in the Regional Sportshall Final in Stoke on Sunday.  All 4 athletes came home with at least one medal and now progress through to the National Final.  (Whoop!)  Chrissie won the shot putt.  Matthew was 2nd in the vertical jump and the 4 lap run.  Hannah and Kane both did 3 events as part of the Under 15 ‘All Rounder’. Hannah was 2nd equal in the 4 lap and 4th equal overall.  Kane won the 2 lap and standing long jump and finished 5th equal overall after his 8th place in the speed bounce.  All athletes also had successes in relays.  Well done to all four athletes, who were members of the winning Birmingham team.   Best of luck for the next round – do Sutton proud!  For all the results, visit this link: http://www.sportshall.org/VTL/ASUK_2012.aspx

England U17 Indoor Championships – 26 February

Stefan Anderson set two new indoor PBs whilst competing at the U17 England Indoor Championships in Birmingham last weekend.  In the 60m he recorded a time of 7.36.  In the 200m he recorded a time of 23.28 and made it through to the semi finals.  Both were excellent performances, especially considering Stefan still has another year to go in the U17 age group.

English National XC Championships – 25 February

An outstanding performance by the U17 women who finished in second place in the English National XC Championships at Parliament Hill today.  This tops an exceptional season in which they have already won the Warwickshire and Midlands Championships.  The individual placings were Katie Ingle (8th), Megan McBrien (21st), Rebecca Robinson (28th) and Gabrielle Kinney (42nd).
