SOME GREAT PERFORMANCES AT THE MIDLANDS OPEN MEETING / NEW CLUB RECORD FOR ISABEL MALE

Yesterday’s Midland Open Indoors meeting at the HPC, Alexander Stadium, saw some excellent performances by our athletes.

Isabel Male took first place in the U15 60m with a time of 7.89. This is a new club record beating the old record of 8.11 set by Lois Cresswell in 1994.

She also took first place in the U15 100m with a time of 12.52. This is an inaugural indoor club record. The outdoor record is held by Fiona Marshall (now Smith) at 12.9 and was set in 1977.

David Iliffe took 4th place in the U17 60m in 7.87 (PB 7.86) and first place in the 100m in 12.51, which is a new PB (was 13.1)

Gideon Akinkuolie also took 4th place in his U17 60m in 7.98, a new PB (was 8.11) and 2nd place in the 100m in 12.72

Harrison North took 2nd place in the U13 100m in 14.26, a new PB (was 14.50).

In the Field, Meghan Sharman took 2nd place in the U17 Hammer with a throw of 33.24m and Madeline Hughes took 1st place in the U15 Hammer with a throw of 32.03m, a new PB (was 27.31m).

Well done to Isabel, David, Gideon, Harrison, Meghan and Madeline.

RSCAC Club Champs for U11 – U20 on Saturday 7 April 2018

If you’re around on Saturday 7 April 2018, please enter the RSCAC Club Champs which will be held at Wyndley. This is a great opportunity to compete in athletics on your home track.

Pick up your entry form from the clubhouse and select the events you want to do. There are runs, jumps and throws on offer. £3 per event or 3 or more events for £8.

ENTRIES CLOSE THURSDAY 29 MARCH.

Anyone Year 4 to Year 13 age can enter (& anyone a school year after Year 13 who has a birthday 1 Jan – 31 Aug).

Oh What a Night!

At the final Sportshall of the season, Royal Sutton put on a great show. Thanks to everyone who came out in the snow to compete tonight. There were too many first, seconds and thirds to mention – well done to everyone!

As it was the last meeting of the year, there were medals awarded for the best overall perfornances. And Sutton won lots of them…

WINNERS OF THE OVERALL TROPHY! The U15 Girls from Royal Sutton scored more points than any other club. Excellent team work and very well done to: Eve Cutis, Grace Curtis, Cerys Deakin, Ameile Dennis, Halle Drysdale, Jess Dunn, Grace Fennell, Isabelle Fennel, Tricia Kamolom and Zoe Trevis.

Membership Renewal Letters

These are now available to collect from the coffee bar on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 – 8pm. (You will be given a named evelope.)

These are for existing members who need to renew their membership in order to train and compete from 1st April 2018 onward.

Sports Relief 2018

‪Just a reminder that on Thursday 22nd March our 7-9yrs taster group will be doing the Sports Relief mile within their training session. Bring your sports relief accessories and any spare pennies as we’ll be collecting donations. (The weekly training fee will also go to Sports Relief.)
