There are no cows in the Park and there’s no snow forecast so the road relays this weekend are on (hopefully)!

The seniors are running on Saturday from 12 noon, whilst the juniors are running on Sunday from 11.15am.

RSCAC Men’s 12 Stage Results

Our cross country teams kick off 2013 with the County Championships this Saturday.  The Warwickshire Championships will be taking place at Leamington and race details are available here.

Good luck also to anyone competing at the Staffordshire County Championships in Wolverhampton.

For the armchair athletes there’s also cross country on TV this weekend, with the Great Edinburgh cross country being shown on BBC1 from 1pm.

The senior cross country teams are in action this weekend in the 2nd round of league fixtures.  The women travel to Burbage Common, Hinckley hoping to build on their fantastic 5th place finish in the first match.  The course is described as “flat but can be very wet under foot” – could be interesting!  The men’s team travel to Cofton Park where the course will by anything but flat. Race details are available here. There’s one month to go until the Little Aston five mile road race and two mile junior fun run.  The race takes place at 11am on Sunday 2 September.  Entry fees are £8 (£10 on the day) for the road race and £3 for the two mile junior fun run.  An entry form is available here:

Let’s have a great turnout from the club!

The senior team will be travelling to Burton on Sunday to compete in the 3rd league fixture of the season.  Following a victory in the last match at Wyndley the team will be looking to put in a good performance to maintain our promotion push. 

We are in need of a couple of qualified field officials to help us with two events:

• 1300 – Long Jump (Men)
• 14.20 – Shot Putt (Women) 

As points are awarded for officials we are really keen to fill these positions.  If anyone can help (Qualified or not) please contact John Topliss or Megan Evans.

The 46th annual “Round the Park Run” organised by Octavian Droobers takes place on Wednesday 27 June in Sutton Park.  The event starts at Town Gate, with the aim being to complete a full circuit of the Park, taking in all 6 gates.  The distance is approximately 8 miles, depending on your navigational skills!  For full details click here.

The 1st Senior League Track & Field match of the season is now upon us this Saturday at Sutton in Ashfield, with the second match taking place at our home ground, Wyndley, on 27th May!

After two challenging years we are looking at fielding our strongest possible field of athletes for this crucial first meeting.  It’s very easy to score points…a great way to get race fitness…overall an opportunity not to miss.

The closing date for entries to the athletics county championships is fast approaching.  For the Warwickshire Championships the closing date is 18 April for paper entries and 25 April for on line entries.  The event will be held at Saffron Lane Athletics Stadium, Leicester (together with the Leicestershire & Rutland Championship) on 12th/13th May.  Full details are available at www.warwickshirecountyaa.co.uk
