2014 British Outdoor Masters Champs – 9/10 August

RSCAC athletes cemented the clubs position as one of the top Master’s clubs in the country, with awesome results at the British Outdoor T&F Championships at Alexander stadium last weekend.

They won no less than 9 medals, 4 Golds, and broke 3 club records in the process.

This bodes well for some of our Masters athletes who will be competing at the European outdoors, Izmir (Turkey) at the end of the month, and at the Vets Cup Final at Stoke on the 31st August.

Here is how they did :

Lorna Foster W50  Shot Put 3rd and 2nd British competitor (a Dutch competitor was just ahead of Lorna) so should receive silver medal.Lorna Foster
 
Kevin Brown M45 Discus  BRITISH CHAMPION
Beat former British Senior record holder Perris Wilkins into second place.
 
Donald Brown M50 100m BRITISH CHAMPION. Beat current World Champion.
Donald Brown M50 100mH 2nd. 14.67secs. NEW CLUB RECORD. One tenth behind winner.
 
Rob Andrew M50 800m BRITISH CHAMPION 2.12.68 (2.14.56 in heat)
Rob Andrew M50 1500m 3rd . 4.20.36. Same time shown as second place so must be down to thousandths.
 
Richard Henry M40 100m 8th . Won the B Final !
 
Swaran Singh M70 Discus 1st BRITISH CHAMPION 35.60m NEW CLUB RECORD. Beats Tom Wyers record set in 2003.
Swaran Singh M70 Shot 6th 9.37m NEW CLUB RECORD. Beats Jhalman Singhs record set in 2008.
 
David Price M70 Javelin 3rd 29.65m.  22cms behind silver winner
 
Jhalman Singh M75 Shot 3rd . Close to his club record.
