Well done to all our are athletes who competed at the county Champs last weekend. There were some fantastic performances and a great haul of medals. The standout performance during the weekend came from Maddie Hammond who won both the U13 800m and 1500m. The winning time of 2.26.5 in the 800m was a championship record. Maddie also won a silver medal in the 200m proving that distance runners can sprint.
There were also two new club records:
- Lauren Hammond in the U15 300m with a time of 43.99. She finished in third place in the Final beating the old record of 44.39 set by Jennie Hopkinson last year.
- Sherri Smart in the Senior Women’s Hammer with a throw of 30.92m. This beats her old record set last year of 30.16m.

Wow! What a run! Laura Whittle smashed her own PB last night to run 15.08 in the 5k at the Payton Jordan Invitational Meeting. The time is an Olympic Games Qualifying Standard. Fantastic running Laura!

There were some great individual and team results at the National XC Champs at Donnington Park on Saturday. In particular well done to Georgia Curry, Shaun Evans, Mel Woodward, Ellen Humpherston, Alex Jones and Euan Cox who all recorded top 100 finishes – great performances given the quality of the runners competing. There were also great team performances by our Senior Women, U17 men, U15 girls and U13 girls.
