The 5 – 6 pm induction group for children aged 7 – 9 starts again this Thursday (26 September). Any keen athletes should turn up at the athletics club house on Wyndley Lane at 4.55 pm. The session costs £1.50.
Telford Games – 14 September
Some excellent results by RSC athletes at the Telford Games. Kane Howitt put in some superb performances to take 1st the U17 Long Jump in a new meeting record of 6.17m and just missed out on the club record. He also took 2nd place in the 200m Final in 22.9 and 5th in the 100m Final. His training partner Will Bonner also was in great shape in setting a new PB in finishing 2nd in the U17 400m and 6th place in the 200m Final.
As if not to be outdone by Kane, his jumps coach Megan Evans took 1st in the Triple Jump and 2nd in the Long Jump.
Midland Road Relays – 21 September
Great running by Royal Sutton athletes at the Midland Road Relays today. The senior men finished in 19th place recording their best finish for at least 10 years. Ollie Harradence and Fred Tremblay provided the highlight, with both running massive PBs. The ‘B’ team was 40th and the ‘C’ team was 59th
The senior women finished 16th with Megan McBrien having a particularly strong run on the first leg.
In the junior races the U13 girls ‘A’ team finished 7th and ‘B’ team finished 11th, with Ellen Humpherson and Melissa Adkins running the fastest legs. The U15 girls finished 8th with Georgia Curry running the 12th fastest time of the day. Shaun Evans and Jerome Austin both ran well in an incomplete team for the U17 men.

Come and support Royal Sutton at the Midland Road Relays this weekend
The best distance runners in the Midlands will be competing at the Road Relays in Sutton Park this Saturday. We have athletes competing across the age groups. The junior races start at 10.45 and the senior races start at 1.30. A full timetable is available here.

Fred Tremblay runs 1.57 at the Watford Open
Fred Tremblay had a great run at the Watford Open meeting, winning an 800m race. His time of 1.57.88 puts him in the top 3 in the M35 age group in the UK.
British Masters Champs – 14/15 September
Upcoming weekend – 14/15 September
There are lots of Royal Sutton athletes in competition this weekend. Laura Whittle will be competing amongst the elite runners at the Great North Run on Sunday. Full coverage of the event is on the BBC on both Saturday (Great City Games) and Sunday.
A number of our top veterans will in action at the Alexander Stadium for the British Masters Championships. We wish them all the best.
Elsewhere we have athletes competing at the Telford Games and Vyrnwy Half Marathon. Good luck everyone!
Results roundup
A couple of results to catch up on. On 31 August our junior athletes travelled to Worcester for the final Heart of England match of the season. The results are available here. Chase Hansle, Millie Fidkin, Connie Wooton, Michael Iwanowicz, Ben Horton, Evan Prichard, Connor Notley, Chrissie Prince and Maddy Underwood all won events.
On Sunday 1 September our veterans travelled to Nuneaton for the Cup Final. Team Manager John Topliss reports:
Ed was in fine form to take 1st place in the M35 Javelin, 3rd in the M40 Pole Vault ( I am Ed’s official pole transporter) and 4th in the M40 Long Jump.Little Aston 5 photos
