The National Road Relays, which were due to take place in Sutton Park on 13/14 October, have been cancelled. This is a result of an outbreak of e coli 0157 which has been linked directly to Sutton Park. A full statement from the ERRA is available here.
Presentation Evening – 21 September
Come and celebrate a successful year for Royal Sutton. The annual presentation evening takes place this Friday (21st September) at the All Saints Church Centre on Belwell Lane, Four Oaks (7.30-11pm). Awards will be given to athletes in each age group. Tickets are still available from the coffee bar and cost £6 each, to include a disco and jacket potato. Family discounts are available.
Also, make sure you vote for your “Athletes Athlete Award.” This is an award chosen by you for the athlete you feel deserves this recognition. You can vote at the coffee bar. This years nominees, who have been chosen by their coaches are:

Additional summer holiday athletics sessions now available
To coincide with the launch of the London Olympics, Royal Sutton is pleased to announce additional summer holiday athletics sessions for children aged 8-15 years. The courses are designed to give children a fun introduction to athletics.
Royal Sutton will be running a free morning (9 am – 12 midday) or afternoon (1 pm -4 pm) of athletics on Monday 13 August at Wyndley.
The club will also be running two 3 day programmes, also at Wyndley Leisure Centre. The first programme will run from 6-8 August and the second will run from 20-22 August. The cost of the 3 programme is £30 and the course runs from 10am to 2.30pm daily.
You can book all sessions at Wyndley Leisure Centre (0121 464 7742). Places are strictly limited so book quickly before all the places are taken!

Olympic event on at Wyndley this weekend
The two day Sutton Coldfield Community Games is taking place today and tomorrow (14th and 15th July) at Wyndley leisure centre and athletics track. It’s on from 11 am – about 9 pm each day. Throughout the 2 days there are opportunities to try loads of different sports. The athletics slots are 1 – 3pm on both days, when sprints and long jump are on offer. For more info click here.
If you’d like to come and help Bunny Kyd, Katie and Hannah Jennings and Meg Evans with the coaching, please get to the track at 12:45 either on Saturday or Sunday. Any help will be appreciated.

The Olympic Torch comes to RSCAC!!!
Next Tuesday (17th July) an Olympic torch will be outside the RSCAC clubhouse for members to see and be photographed with.
