END OF X COUNTRY SEASON MEAL

U11s, U13s and anyone else who wants to join us are invited to an end of x country season meal at Jimmy Spices, Sutton Coldfield Sun 14/2 5-7pm £21 (To cover buffet meal & 2 drinks).
As its Valentine’s Day, we are constrained by numbers and must pay upfront a £5 deposit per person. If anyone wants to come please get a letter off Elsa (U13s) or Zara (U11s) ASAP and give your deposit to them. Please don’t chance just turning up on the day as you may be left all by yourself on Valentine’s Day!

Taster session for 7-9 yr old returns 21 January

There is good news and bad news for all those who are attending our sessions. The good news is that we re-open after the Christmas festivities on 21st January 2016. The bad news is that we shall be missing Lucy for 2 weeks as she and her boyfriend are flying out to Australia for a well deserved holiday.
Hope all you guys and dolls have been keeping fit despite having eaten all that turkey, Christmas pudding and chocolates.
Looking forward to seeing you all on 21st January!

Xmas Training – Senior Endurance Squad

  1. No training Thursday 24th
  2. Boxing Day: “Park Gates” run with Nick C. Meet at Clubhouse for 10am – a group off-road / trail run at a sociable “Post-Christmas Day” pace
  3. Tuesday 29th: Day-time session at 10.30 from Clubhouse car park. A mix of road & off road efforts. (No squad evening session.)
  4. Thursday 31st. No club session
  5. Back to normal training Tuesday 5th January 2016

The sessions are welcome to all members and anyone else who just fancies a run.

Taster session 1 mile run raises £150 for Children in Need

Phil Pollock reports on the recent 1 mile run by our Taster Session:
“The Taster session group recently organised a 1 mile run in order to raise funds for the Children in Need appeal.
The winner was Harrison North in a magnificent time of 6mins 39 seconds considering he is only 8 years old. He will surely be a valuable asset to the club when he reaches 9 years old and can represent the club on both track or cross country. Well done to all the 35 runners that took part in the event.
The watching parents were encouraged to take part also and it was a delight to see so many put their trainers on and take part whether running, walking, pushing a pram whilst texting, or youngsters on a scooter. Such was the success of the event that we will organise a similar event next term!
In addition to the money collected on the night, RSCAC donated their training fees that had been collected and along with a further donation from the Club, a cheque for £150.00 has now been sent to Children in Need appeal. Last year we raised £100.00. So well done everyone.”

Taster session for 7-9 yr old returns on Thursday 17 September

The Taster Session, for 7 -9 year olds, designed to create a ‘club-like’ environment, to increase the children’s athletic ability as well as their confidence, returns for a new Autumn term on Thursday 17th September 2015 between 5.00 and 6.00pm

Those children who attended the Summer Term are invited back, but if they have not attended the first 2 sessions in the new term, they will be deemed not to want to participate any further. Currently, we have a considerable waiting list, and all ’empty places’ resulting from the above will then be allocated to those currently on the waiting list.

For those returning to the new session on 17th September, you are urged to arrive earlier, as parents will be required to complete new paperwork. For this, the clubhouse will be open as from 4.30pm.

Because of increase costs, we have reluctantly had to increase the training fee to £2.00 per person per session.

In fairness to all new children who have NOT previously attended, nor on the waiting list, they will not be allowed to take part, but must firstly be added to the waiting list, applying preferably by email to phil.pollock@hotmail.co.uk.

Lucy, Max, Shaun and co look forward to meeting up with you again for an hour of running, jumping and throwing.
