Katie Ingle selected to represent GB U20s

Congratulations to Katie Ingle who has been selected to represent GB U20s in the steeplechase at the prestigious Loughborough International Athletics match this Sunday.  This follows some fantastic performances by Katie on both the track and country. She will be competing against Loughborough Past and Present, England, Scotland, Wales and British Students. Further details on the event are available here.

Royal Sutton takes on the London Marathon

Royal Sutton London Marathon TeamOn Sunday fifteen Royal Sutton athletes will be competing in the London Marathon. This is the largest ever contingent of runners from the club to run in the event.

Of the 15 runners, three qualified to race in the UKA Marathon Championship which is incorporated within the event while a further 9 athletes pre-qualified for the event by running “Good for age” qualifying times. Ollie Haradence, who has been in great form recently, will be looking to run close to 2 hours 30 mins while many of the men are looking to run between 2.40 and 3 hours. Andrea Deathridge and Kate McBrien will hope to be our first women back in around 3.15-3.20.

New officials needed!

If any athletes, parents or supporters are interested in becoming a track and field official there are a couple of courses coming up at the Alexander Stadium –  a level 1 course on 9 March and a level 2 course on 20 March.  It’s a great way to get involved and support the club.
