We have some Little Aston 5 souvenir T-shirts available to purchase. These would make ideal training tops and are available from the coffee bar. They cost £5 for 1 or £8 for 2.

There are two 100 club draws coming up – the November draw with a top prize of £50, and the December draw with a single prize of £100. If you would like to take part in the draws there are still balls available. Please speak to John Mills or ask for details at the coffee bar. The Annual General Meeting of RSCAC will be held on Tuesday 22 October in the Clubhouse at 8pm prompt. Please come along and support the club – All members over 18 years of age and Junior Members with their parents and/or friends are welcome to attend.

If you would like to stand for election to the Management Committee or would like any matters to be raised at the meeting please speak to Katie Jennings or Ernie Eames.

Laura Whittle has been named among the first 27 athletes to be selected for Scotlands’s 2014 Commonwealth Games Team. She joins an elite list of athletes including Eilidh Child, Eilish McColgan, Steph Twell, Laura Muir and Chris O’Hare. This follows some fantastic performances during 2013 including a 2nd place finish in the British Championships 5000m. Well done Laura!

The 5 – 6 pm induction group for children aged 7 – 9 starts again this Thursday (26 September). Any keen athletes should turn up at the athletics club house on Wyndley Lane at 4.55 pm. The session costs £1.50.

You don’t have to travel to Moscow to see top quality athletics this weekend. The senior athletics team will be in action this Saturday at Wyndley. If you want to compete and haven’t been asked then please speak to John, Fiona, Meg, Graham or Nick.

If you’re able to help out on the day (e.g. putting out hurdles/helping behind the coffee bar, etc) please let us know. Ernie will be at the track from 9am. Any help would be much appreciated!

Otherwise, It would be great to have lots of support so come along and cheer on the team. Field events start at 11.30 and track events start at 1pm. The last events are the relays at 5pm. A timetable of the events is available here.

The best athletes in the country will be heading to Birmingham this weekend for the British Championships and Nicholas Pryce and Laura Whittle will be amongst them. Nicholas will be competing in the 100m on Friday evening. Laura, who is 3rd in the Power of Ten rankings, will be running in the 5000m on Sunday. We wish them all the best!

Royal Sutton AC will be running the popular Startrack athletics course again this summer holiday. The course is aimed at 8-14 year olds and is designed to provide a fun introduction to athletics.

There are two 3 day courses available, with each day running from 10am-3pm. The dates of the courses are:

• Course 1: Monday 29th July – Wednesday 31st July
• Course 2: Monday 12th August – Wednesday 14th August

The cost of each course is £30, which includes a free athletics goodie bag. To enrol call Wyndley Leisure Centre on 0121 464 7742. Further details are available in the below flyer:
