No jumps, hurdles and sprints tonight

Posted: March 11, 2016 by megsamaniac in Uncategorized

There is no jumps, hurdles and sprints tonight at the Alexander Stadium so we are all fresh for tomorrow’s final Sportshall of the year.  Next week, provided it isn’t snowing, we will be back outside at Wyndley. 5.30 – 7pm.

Shaun Evans provided the highlight at the English Schools XC Championships last weekend at Wollaton Park. He produced possibly his best performance of the season to finish in 13th place. Well done Shaun! For the girls the top performance came from Georgia Curry who was 32nd.

It was great also to see a strong club representation in the Senior Boys race, with Alex Jones, Euan Cox and Alex Blackham joining Shaun in the West Midlands team and Jerome Austin turning out for Staffordshire. It will be great to add a few new faces to our senior team next year. Well done to everyone who took part.

IMG_2019There were some great individual and team results at the National XC Champs at Donnington Park on Saturday. In particular well done to Georgia Curry, Shaun Evans, Mel Woodward, Ellen Humpherston, Alex Jones and Euan Cox who all recorded top 100 finishes – great performances given the quality of the runners competing. There were also great team performances by our Senior Women, U17 men, U15 girls and U13 girls.
