West Midlands Young Athletes XC – Race 2

22622637438_abee0b44e2_o.jpgWell done to all our athletes who competed at Wolverhampton last weekend. The team finished 5th on the day and is 5th overall in the league after two races out of 20 competing clubs. Fantastic effort everyone!

There were some great performances on the day across all the races – Georgia Curry was 2nd in the U17 women, with team finishing in 2nd place (Verity O’Shea and Lois West were the other counters finishing 12th and 14th). There was a good team effort by U11 boys to finish 4th, with Ben Stewart 1st back for the club in 20th place.

There was a top ten finish for Alex Jones, who finished in 6th place for the U17 men. The team was 7th out of 18.

Hope Stirland was 6th in the U11 girls race to lead the team home 5th, whilst Ben Horton was  17th for the U15 boys. The team was 11th out of 19 clubs.

The U13 girls finished 3rd out of 18 clubs with Maddie Hammond having a great run to finish 22nd. The U13 boys were 10th with Jacob Higgins 1st home for the club.

The U15  girls finished 5th in the final race of the day with Ellen Humpherston 1st back.

The next race is on 6th December at Warley Woods. See you there!!!

Senior Xross – 7 Nov 2015

The senior men and women’s teams were off to a good start at the first cross country race of the season last Saturday at Leamington Spa.

Women’s results for the 379 runners, can be found here.

Andrea Deathridge finished at a fantastic 35th place and 6th overall in the Master’s category.
Helen Elsouedi celebrated her first Xross country for the club in a commendable 181st position which promises a lot.

The men’s team battled through a field of 236 runners.
They showed great strength in depth by aligning 17 runners – almost 3 complete teams, including  2 juniors joining our ranks and boosting results all-round.

The A team scored a low 204 points to finish in 5th place on the day out of 17 teams, whilst the B team finished 5th as well in the B rankings.
